It’s just a short month now between the end of classes and senior prom, and for most of these Detroiters the future is wide open. Remember that time of your life? Prom is one of the rituals bridging that gap. Who do you ask? Will someone ask you? This new world of formalities, social cues and miscues is part of the passage leading seniors into the less certain world that will follow after graduation, as they head off from the friends and people they’ve known.

It’s easy to forget that this transition is even harder when you may not have the means to buy a dress or to rent a tuxedo. You can help us enable these students to embark on this journey
